What is NEIS?The New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) is an Australian Government initiative designed to assist unemployed people to establish new business ventures. Business Success Group was the first Managing Agent (MA) established in Queensland to manage & deliver NEIS under contract to the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. Having delivered the NEIS program across Queensland BSG has developed an exceptional development program which builds knowledge of the participants and supports successful businesses through a mentoring program. NEIS provides participants with nationally recognised small business training, professional business plan development, income support for up to 12 months and participation in the mentoring program. NEIS assists applicants to create new, independent small businesses which otherwise would not exist. Acceptance into NEIS is subject to a number of eligibility conditions and also depends on the availability of places. Competition for places in the Scheme is substantial and only those demonstrating business viability and competitive advantage are accepted. If you are not eligible for NEIS you can still undertake small business training with Business Success Group through funded programs or on a fee for service basis.What types of businesses can be approved?All types of businesses are considered with local markets and conditions considered during the process. What training is provided?A training course in small business management is delivered by BSG prior to the submission of the business plan for approval. Training may be completed via workshop attendance or self placed learning. Recognition prior learning (RPL) is available. On completion of the course you will have produced a business plan, which is presented to an external Advisory Committee who assesses the plan for viability. If your business plan is approved, then you will be transferred to the NEIS program and receive the NEIS allowance for up to 52 weeks.Top>> |
